1 Day-to-Day

I’m English, but I live in Japan now, and I go to a Japanese High
School. Wow! It’s very different from school in England! I get up
at six o’clock. I have a shower, get dressed, have breakfast, and
brush my teeth really quickly. I leave home at half past six and
take the bus to school. It takes two hours! That’s normal for kids in
Japan! I arrive at school at half past eight, and I have six classes
every day. Our classes finish at half past three, but after school,
I don’t go home and watch TV. All Japanese kids go to clubs after
school. Some kids do sports, and some play musical instruments in
the school band, or they do hobbies like art or photography. I play
volleyball. We practise for three hours every day after school, and
we practise at weekends, too. Volleyball club finishes at half past
six, and I take the bus home. I arrive home at half past eight. Then
I have dinner and do my homework. Then I watch television or go
online for an hour or two. I go to bed at about half past eleven or
midnight, so I don’t sleep much! I often get tired because I’m so
busy. I sometimes fall asleep in class, but I try not to. I’m so happy
to have the chance to study at a Japanese High School. It’s really
difficult, but it’s a great experience. I meet lots of new people, eat
amazing food, and learn about the Japanese culture. I think every
kid should study in another country at some time in their lives. You
learn so much!
