2 My School, My Life
ShanaMill says: Hey guys! Tell me about your favourite teacher! Why do you like that
teacher? And another question – what makes a good teacher? Does a nice teacher
= a good teacher? I’m looking forward to reading your answers!
EricJ says: My favourite teacher is Mr Smiley. He teaches history. He’s really friendly and
makes the effort to get to know all the students in the class. He’s funny, too. He makes
us pretend that we are people from history, and we act out the stories. That makes
the lessons really enjoyable and memorable. I think that’s important. When I enjoy a
lesson, I want to learn more!
Unicornlover says: My favourite teacher is my drama teacher, Mrs Heslop. I’m usually
quite shy, but Mrs Heslop is really encouraging. She makes us think about and express
our feelings, and I feel so engaged. I never feel like I’m learning, and I don’t notice that
people are watching me! Now, I’m not afraid to speak in front of other people in drama
lessons, and I’m braver in my day-to-day life these days, too.
KevinLLL says: My French teacher, Miss Leopold, is very generous with her time. I find
French difficult, but she gives me extra help. She’s really kind and patient. She meets
me and some other students at lunchtime to give us extra help. Because she does a
lot for me, I try my best for her. I’m more careful in French than in any other subject, and
I’m doing well.
Sparks says: My physics teacher, Mr Wilson, is just brilliant. He knows so much about
science, space, engineering, and things like that. He makes me realise that by doing
well in his classes, I can do anything in the future, and that makes me motivated. He
isn’t nice. Nice teachers make lessons too easy, I think. Mr Wilson’s lessons are difficult,
but they are interesting, so I feel challenged.
