The Video
They say that anyone who watches
the video will die eight days later.
I hope it isn’t true.
Although it was summer, the afternoon had turned grey and cloudy, and as it looked like it might rain, Miranda
and I decided to stay in and watch a film. Nothing on Netflix took our fancy, so we opened up the YouTube app
and started browsing. Miranda said she was in the mood for a horror film, so we typed “horror” into the search box
and scrolled through the results.
About halfway down the page, we saw the title Scariest Film Ever. Miranda suggested watching it, so we clicked
on the link.
The screen went black, and it almost seemed as though the room itself turned gloomier. Suddenly, a series of
dreadful images flashed on the screen, and there was an unearthly sound of a small child crying. Before we knew
it, it was over. It had lasted less than a minute, although it was listed as a ninety-minute film.
Then suddenly, the screen went white, and the following words appeared in red: You shouldn’t have watched it.
That was seven days ago.
