                Modifying comparatives and superlatives



                 Comparatives
                 much/a lot/far/a little/a bit/slightly + comparative adjective
                 e.g. They are a lot + more expensive + than my shoes.
                 Superlatives
                 by far/easily/nearly + superlative adjective
                 e.g. It was by far + the cheapest hotel in the town.
                 Same/similar degrees
                 as…as/not as…as/just
                 e.g. Her meals are as + delicious + as mine.
                 Other ways to compare
                 exactly the same as/very similar to/different from (without using an adjective)
                 e.g. Derek’s bike is very similar to Carl’s. (no adjective)
