Have you ever wanted to speed through a snowy landscape on a sled pulled by dogs? Imagine how it would
feel to be wrapped in soft, warm furs with the tip of your nose and the slits of your eyes the only parts of your
body exposed to the chilly winter air. That’s the experience that awaits you in Lapland, an area in northern
Finland - and it’s an experience I’ll never forget.
We arrived a couple of days before the New Year and settled into our rustic log cabin. The fire was blazing,
and there were delicious cloudberry cookies waiting for us. Throughout our stay in Scandinavia, we always felt
welcome, and the people at the resort were so friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable.
With lots of outdoor activities on offer - the husky ride, a visit to the reindeer farm, and staying up late to catch
the Northern Lights - we were never bored, and even when we weren’t out exploring the area, we enjoyed
curling up next to the fire reading or playing board games.
If you’re looking for something different, a trip to the north should be top of your list!
