B. Choose the correct word in each sentence. Use a dictionary to help you.

1. Dogs sometimes howl / shout when they are left alone in the house.
2. Although animals don’t talk / utter full sentences, some can be trained to produce other sounds.
3. Humans use many gestures / words to communicate, such as the thumbs-up sign.
4. When humans want to show affection, they’ll often hug / hit the other person.
5. When the police chase criminals, dogs are often used to follow their scent / voice.
6. The direction bees fly in may look erratic / organised, but they are often following set paths.
