wait) outside.
Emma Oh, that's a shame.
Dan Yes, a bit, but Mum 3 (get / buy) Grandma a puzzle book, so at least I was doing
something useful, and the nurses 4 (let / watch) the TV in the dayroom, so it was
OK.
Emma So how is Grandma?
Dan Well, she’s 5 (have / lymph nodes / check), and there are cancer cells there,
unfortunately, so she is going to 6 (get / them / remove).
Emma Oh, no, that's serious. It means the cancer has spread.
Dan Yes, she has to have a course of chemotherapy.
Emma Will she 7 (allow / come) home soon?
Dan Not very soon. But Mum and Auntie Rose said they want to 8 (have / her house /
clean) while she is in hospital, and 9 (get / it / fit) with things that will make it safer
and easier for her to live there – appliances, handles, rails, alarms and so on.
Emma Good idea. I'd like to see Grandma some time.
Dan Do – but the nurses 10 (ask / us / call) before we go. Sometimes Grandma is sick
and ill from treatment, and it's better for her not to have visitors.
Emma OK, I'll do that.
