Ben I’m worried about the oceans, 1 I’m not sure what I can realistically do about them. It’s
not 2 I work for a fishery or a shipping company. I can’t prevent overfishing or marine
                             pollution.

Emma I guess one of the things we can do is to make informed choices 3 the seafood we eat.
Ben How can we do that?
Emma Well, we can avoid buying fish that we know is 4 threat. 5 we eat seafood
in a restaurant, we can find out whether it comes from a sustainable source. That will put
restaurant owners 6 pressure to seek out sustainable suppliers.
Ben Yeah, I guess I could do that, 7 I don’t eat a lot of seafood, actually.

Emma Well, you can do your bit 8 beach cleaning.

Emma Do you clean up other people’s rubbish too? Some beaches are so dirty that you can’t walk
along them 10 kicking rubbish around. So, take a bag with you and collect some.

Ben I live about seventy miles from the beach! If I make a special trip 11 I can clean up
rubbish, I’ll just be using up fossil fuels and contributing to global warming.
Emma That’s a good point. Have you thought about supporting a charity? They fight to protect our
oceans and ensure good fishing and mining practices. 12 supporting them, you can
                             help them do more.
