Tom How was the course in alternative medicine, Anna?
Anna Not very good. They taught us some basic things, 1 I knew already, so I didn’t
learn very much.
Tom How many trainers were there?
Anna Three, 2 taught on the acupuncture course I did last year. He was quite informative.
The other trainers were Reiki specialists, 3 talked a lot of mumbo jumbo.
Tom Oh, sorry to hear that.
Anna Yes, I know that there is a lot of cynicism over alternative therapy, 4 is well-founded.
But it does do a lot to relieve anxiety, depression and stress. I mean, lots of people suffer from severe
stress, 5 affects their physical health. So, I’m sure alternative therapy has a place
in modern healing techniques. But those Reiki practitioners went on about qi and meridians and
life force, 6 interests me at all!
Tom What were the other students in the class like?
Anna Well, I was put in a group with two other people, 7 had done any courses in
alternative therapy before. They were nice enough, but I didn’t learn anything from them.
Tom So, are you going to do any more courses like this one?
Anna Well, there are two more courses coming up soon, 8 interested me before, but I’m
not sure if I will do them now. I’m going to see who the instructors are first.
