2 Career

                         How to choose

                         your ideal job?

Still undecided about what you want to do in the future? It’s never too late to decide – or even to change your
mind once you start working. Here are four factors which might affect your decision.

                 1. Academic Ability 4. Location, location, location
Nowadays, it’s not always true that the best-paid jobs It may be that you’re craving a nice, quiet job
are the ones you have to study hardest for. However, if behind a desk, and that’s perfectly fine. But
you’re thinking of becoming a surgeon or a financial for those who want to explore the world a bit
advisor, you need to be prepared to put in some more, we’ve got a couple of alternatives. If
serious hours of study. For most careers in medicine, you love being surrounded by nature, why not
you’ll be spending at least seven years at university become a logger? You get to spend your time
plus a couple more years getting practical experience outdoors, breathing in the fresh air and listening
before you’re fully qualified. For other careers, there’s to birdsong. But be warned, it’s one of the most
always the option of night school, so you can combine dangerous jobs in the world and doesn’t pay
studying something like accountancy or financial particularly well either. And, speaking of danger,
management with work if you need to. why not go underground and get work as
a miner? It has everything logging doesn’t:
                 2. Physical Ability darkness, cramped conditions and stale air. Not
There’s no denying it, some of us just aren’t cut out convinced? It’s a good option if you’re looking
for certain jobs, and no amount of training will get us to earn a decent salary, especially if you train to
there. For example, imagine you’re a lifeguard and become a project manager.
have to rescue a drowning full-grown man from the
pool: that requires incredible physical strength as well
as the know-how of how to perform the rescue safely. If
you’d prefer the danger in your life to be slightly more
controlled, why not train to be a stunt double? If you
make a good name for yourself, you could end up
jetting across the globe to stand in for A-list stars.

                 3. Travel opportunities
If you long to sail the ocean, we’ve got the ideal job
for you: become a fisherman. From getting up early
to catch fish for a local market to spending months
at a time in deep waters, you’ll get to spend your life
on the ocean. However, if you prefer something with
less physical labour but are still ready for action, you
could always become a war correspondent. These
intrepid journalists travel the globe, chasing stories and
informing the world of what’s happening.
