Let’s Practise

Knowing the difference between a line and a sentence.

1 Open a Microsoft Word file. Type ‘The dog is sitting’.

2 If you want to add a full stop, press the full stop key.

3 Now, press the ‘Enter’ key and then type the following sentence:
‘The cat is walking.’

4 Save your file and name it ‘Keyboard Practice II’.

Fun Time!

Open a new blank Microsoft Word template. Now, type
these lines:

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.

Challenge Yourself!

1 Can you add two more lines? You can see there is a comma in one
of the lines below. Can you find the comma key on the keyboard?

Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.

It’s next to the full stop key!

2 Now save your file. Name it ‘Jack and Jill’.
