Writing Time




              Correlative conjunctions: They are used to connect
              words, sentences, and phrases like coordinating
              conjunctions, but they come in pairs.





                   Neither...nor                 Either...or                Whether...or



                                                 Not only...
                     Both...and
                                                  but also


                 Examples:

                         She went to both Brazil and Mexico.
                         She wants to go to college at either Harvard or Yale.

              Subordinating conjunctions: They are used to connect two ideas by
              making one of them dependent on the other.



                       After                 Because               Even though                  While




                      Before                    As if                Although                   When




                      Unless                As soon as               As though                  Since


                  Examples:

                         I came home after I finished practice.
                         I walked through the class as if I was number one.
