Vertebrates are larger in size and have more complex

               bodies than invertebrates.

Vertebrates are classified into five groups:

Fish: They lay eggs in water

               and breathe through their gills

such as sharks and tuna fish.

Amphibians: They lay eggs in water and

breathe through their lungs such as frogs

                                                   and salamanders.

Reptiles: They lay eggs on land and breathe

through their lungs such as snakes and

               lizards.

Birds: They lay eggs on land and

breathe through their lungs such as

                                                        parrots and sparrows.

               Mammals: They give birth

               and breathe through their lungs

such as humans, dogs and cats.
