A Wonderful Town
When my parents retired last year, they decided to
move to Ayvalık, a small town on the Aegean Sea.
Of course, I had to go with them, although it did
not appeal to me. I will never forget the day when
we arrived. My parents have always dreamed
of living in a quiet, lovely town by the sea and
finally, their wish came true. At first, it was quite
difficult for me to leave my friends and relatives in
the city where I was born and grew up because
I did not know anybody in Ayvalik.
In the beginning, I did not like the town, which was
very different from my hometown. It seemed quieter
and less interesting. I did not see tall buildings, wide
roads, big parks, cafes, or discos. Some places in
the town seemed clean and modern, but others
appeared old and dirty.
Since then, my father has taken me to many different
places where we have met a lot of nice and friendly
people. We have eaten delicious meals which I had
never eaten before. I have also learned a lot about
the new place. I have visited many places, but I like
the beaches the most. Mrs Tamos, who is our next-
door neighbour, is the most cheerful and friendly
person I have met in Ayvalik.
We have seen some historical places such as;
Taksiyarkis and Aya Nikola churches. We have eaten
tasty food on Cunda Island. Now, this small town
seems charming and friendly to me. I have a lot to
learn, and I feel fine here.
I am going to invite my friends in summer, and
I am sure they will like it, too.
