This month, we want to hear about your
best party moments. Here’s one from
Emily to get you started.
When girls in my family turn fifteen, we
all become quinceañeras and have a
special party to celebrate. Traditionally,
being fifteen marked the change from
childhood into becoming a woman,
and you could get married and start
your own family, though obviously
nowadays those ideas have changed.
I became a quinceañera in May, and
so it was the perfect time to celebrate
outdoors. We live in a fairly quiet street,
so we set up tables and chairs outside
and hung decorations between the
streetlights. All my family were there,
and it was really fun to get dressed up
in a fancy white dress and to see all
my friends in their smartest clothes, too.
My aunt and uncle had prepared all the
food, and it all tasted incredible, plus I
had this awesome cake which one of my
cousins had made for me.
