D. Work in a group of four to teach the class about an
organ system in the human body. Choose one of the
following:
• the skeletal system
• the circulatory system
• the respiratory system
• the muscular system
Process:
• Choose a system and research how it works.
• Take notes, especially on amazing or surprising facts.
• Find images and/or video clips.
• Decide on the best way to teach the class.
Suggestions/Ideas:
• Write a quiz for the other groups to do together,
including the amazing facts.
• Print a skeletal cut-out, and then put the parts in an
envelope for each group. Let the groups assemble
the skeleton.
• Have students identify the place of their own organs
or bones with labelled sticky notes.
• Act out or physically demonstrate how blood, air, or
muscles move in the body.
• Find sound effects to match the organ system.
• Create an original power point or short film to show
how the system works.
E. How does the heart work?
Materials
a glass jar Instructions
two straws Half-fill one of the jars with water mixed with red food colouring.
a balloon Stretch the balloon over the cup, and make two small holes in the
