                 B. Find and correct eight errors in the text.

So – your organisation’s computer network has been hacked, and an organisation is demanding money to
return your system to normal. What should you do?
Never before there have been so many ransomware attacks as in the last year. Many organisations feel forced
to pay up. No sooner their computer systems crash, than they go into panic mode and look for the quickest
and easiest way to get their systems running again. But under no circumstances you should do this, as ransom
payments just fuel the cybercrime industry.

But what can you do instead? Firstly, you need identify that the attack is ransomware, and the best way to do
this is by training. Only if the member of staff recognises this kind of attack, your company will be able to respond
appropriately. Then explain the situation to your staff. No sooner will employees log on then they will see that
something is amiss, so they will be wondering who has been affected and how they are supposed to work. So,
as soon as possible, inform your staff what is happening and how they can work. Should they are unable to
work on computers, provide pens and paper and direct them to hard copies of the information, they need.
Then, photograph the ransom note and call the police. Rarely police are able to recover lost data and catch
the criminals, but only if you have all the evidence, you will be able to file a cyber insurance claim.
