B. Complete the dialogue with a correlative conjunction.
Fiona I need to buy a watch battery. Can you see any?
Ben What type do you need?
Fiona Are they all different?
Ben There are 1 many kinds of watch battery as there are fish in the sea! Do you have
your watch with you?
Fiona No. I could buy this pack. It has lots of different watch batteries in it.
Ben No, don’t get those. They’re rubbish. No 2 do you fit them when they run out. You
should 3 open your watch to find out what battery you need, or take it to a jeweller
to fit a new battery.
Fiona I’ll find out what battery it takes. Taking it to a jeweller is both time-consuming 4
expensive.
Ben Not really. It probably costs as much to buy a good watch battery 5 to take your
watch to a jeweller. It depends 6 you want to risk damaging the watch while you
open it or get someone who knows what they’re doing to change your battery.
Fiona Good point. Well, I’ll leave the watch battery for now then. But I need 7 a battery for
my watch but 8 some for my bike lights.
Ben What kind of battery?
Fiona Gosh, I don’t know. Probably 9 AA or AAA. Look, this packet includes
10 AA and AAA batteries. I might get that. The other batteries will come in useful.
Ben Are you sure? My bike light takes 11 AA nor AAA batteries.
Fiona Doesn’t it? Well, I’m pretty sure my bike light takes either one or the other, and I’d 12
buy these and trust my luck than go home and check and come into town again.
Ben Suit yourself!
