‘Shift’ key special characters
punctuation marks
Let’s Learn
We use the ‘Caps Lock’ key to type uppercase letters. You can also type letters in
uppercase by holding down the ‘Shift’ key and then pressing any letter key.
The ‘Shift’ key can also be used for keys which have two symbols. For example, the
‘1’ key also has an exclamation mark ‘!’ above it. If you hold down the ‘Shift’ key
and press ‘1’, you will type the ‘!’ symbol.
Many keys have two symbols. Some symbols are special characters while others
are punctuation marks.
