             Let’s Learn

             The main parts of Scratch.

1 This section is where your
                   script is. It’s called the
                   script area. 2
                                                                                      1
2 Here are the different script

                   categories we can choose
                   from.

3 This is the programme screen.
This is where we see how our

                   programme will look like.
                                                                                                  3

4 This is the ‘Choose a Sprite’
button. We use it to add

                   sprites.

5 There is already a sprite added
                   when you start Scratch. You
can remove it if you like.
                                                                                                5 4

             Let’s Practise

             Choosing a sprite.
A sprite is an image on a Scratch computer programme screen. Every Scratch programme
is made up of sprites and each sprite has a script (a set of instructions) which controls it.

1 Open Scratch by double-clicking on the ‘Scratch’ shortcut.
