Lesson 4

Alignment

1. Open the file ‘Gary’s Phones.xlsx’.

2. Select cells ‘B2:D2’.
3. Merge the cells you just selected.
4. Now select cells ‘B4:D9’ and apply ‘Centre’ alignment.

5. For cells ‘B4:D4’, select ‘45-degree text orientation’.
6. Apply your own style of choice to the table (borders and colours).
7. When you’re done, save the file and exit.

Lesson 5

Logical Testing – IF Formula

1. Open the file ‘Gary’s Phones.xlsx’.
2. In cell ‘E4’, add the title ‘Restock’.

3. Apply the same style to the cell as the ones in cells ‘B4:D4’.
4. Add a logical statement to cell ‘E5’. The statement should display the message ‘yes’ if the
‘Stock’ value in cell ‘C5’ is below ‘15’. If not, it should display the message ‘no’.
5. Copy the same statement to cells ‘E6:E9’. (Move your mouse to the lower-right corner of cell
‘E5’ until your cursor becomes a ‘+’ sign and drag downwards till all cells are selected.)

6. When you’re done, save the file and exit.
