A closer look
Cactus plants grow in the desert
where there is very little rain.
Their roots grow wider and
deeper in the soil to absorb as
much water as possible.
Plants are divided into three groups depending
on their stems:
Trees have wooden trunks.
Bushes have wooden trunks but they
are shorter than trees.
Grass has soft stems.
