A closer look








              Nutrients


              Proteins are nutrients that build the



              muscles. They are found in foods like beef,


              poultry, fish, eggs and dairy products. Foods


              like nuts, oats, beans and lentils come from



              plants and provide us with proteins as well.




                                              Carbohydrates are the main source of energy



                                              because the body changes them into glucose.


                                              They are found in rice, potatoes, pasta and bread.





              Vitamins and minerals help the body fight



              disease. They are found in fresh fruits and


              vegetables.







                                                        Fats also provides the body with energy.


                                                        They are found in oils, butter and beef.
