Dear Parents,

As part of our social studies program, your child has been learning about

the OPEC and the Arab League. Your child learned about the major role
played by these two organizations in world relations.
You can help your child by supporting our classroom learning.

Here are some things you can do to reinforce the content of this lesson

and our related learning activities.
• Ask your child to tell you about the lesson and what he or she
learned from it.

• Watch a video about OPEC, its members, and why it was
established.

• With your child, watch a video about the Arab League, its major
roles, and the achievements made by the League since it was
established.

• Discover one way that a member country of the Arab League is
working on climate change challenges. Look for a country
that is studying solar or wind power or other

technologies to use these natural resources for the
good of its citizens.
