Many European colonists migrated, or moved, to the Americas over

ruled by European monarchs. The colonists were loyal to their
monarchs.
The rst settlers faced very di cult living conditions, but over time
life became easier as colonists settled, built their own cities, and
brought their culture and civilization to the Americas.
Soon the colonists became attached to the New World and they
wanted to break free from their European origins. This desire for
independence led to a revolution against the monarchy.
