                      Diets and Health

Yesterday a dietician visited our school and made a
short but valuable speech about nutrition. She gave
some useful tips on healthy eating. Everybody wants to
be healthy, strong, and fit. It is important to eat the right
kinds of food every day. Our body needs a lot of fresh fruit
and vegetables because they give us vitamins. Dairy
products like milk, cheese, and yoghurt help to make
our bones and teeth strong. It is good to eat some meat
but not too much. We should eat chicken or fish instead
of meat. It is a good idea to have a glass of milk, an egg
with some cheese, and a little bread for breakfast every
morning. We don’t need lots of sweet food like candy,
cakes, biscuits, chocolate, and ice cream because they
are bad for our teeth. They also make us fat. It is very
important to have lunch. We should eat a salad, some
              chicken, or a sandwich.
Here’s some more advice to be healthy and fit:

              • Eat healthy meals regularly. We need a couple of
                good meals daily.
              • Don’t eat fatty food and coffee. They are bad for you.

              • Eat fresh fruit and vegetables instead of taking
                vitamins.

              • Drink a lot of water. Have fruit juice instead of fizzy
                drinks.

              • Eat at least three meals a day.

              • Cut down on sweet things and soft drinks.
              • Avoid eating fast food.

              • Don’t spend a lot of time sitting in front of the
                television.
