                    Grammar        Prepositions and pronouns in relative clauses



                A preposition is needed in some relative clauses.  Similarly, a preposition can go before  whom, but not
                A preposition before the relative pronoun (which,   before who.
                whose, etc.) is formal.                         Is she the woman who/whom you work with?

                A preposition is needed in relative clause sentences
                when the verb normally needs a sentence.        For three-part phrasal verbs, the final preposition may
                I listened to a band last night.  It was good.      be placed before the relative pronoun for very formal
                The band  which I listened to last night was    English.
                good.                                           That event is one to which I look forward. FORMAL
                The band to which I listened last night was good.  That event is one which I look forward to. MORE USUAL
                I waited for the bus. It never arrived.

                The bus which I waited for never arrived.
                The bus for which I waited never arrived.
                                                                Correct the mistakes.
