Rules at School 3
E. Read the text again and answer the questions.
1. How does the writer suggest schools could be more
ecological?
2. What choices would the writer like teenagers to be
given?
3. What rules would the writer like to change?
F. Discuss with a partner.
1. Do you agree that the changes suggested by the
writer would make students happier?
2. Would you like to see these changes happen in your
school?
3. What’s your idea of a dream school? Be as
imaginative as you can!
In my dream school, some of the rules
would be different. For one thing, students
wouldn’t have to do homework. I have
around two hours of homework every
day which means I don’t have much
time for myself. I believe students would
work harder at school if they weren’t so
tired from staying up late to finish their
assignments. I’d also change the normal
punishments that are used in schools, such
as detention or writing lines. Students could
do something helpful for the community
instead, such as picking up litter.
In conclusion, I don’t think my dream
school is that far from reality. With a few
small changes, I think every student could
be happier at school.
