3                Chart Features (X-axis and Y-axis)
                 3











             Charts have been used for hundreds of years! Spreadsheets use many

             different types of charts, but they all share some common features.

             All charts have an x-axis and a y-axis. In the pictures below, we can see the
             x-axis, which is horizontal and tells us when each measurement was made.

             The y-axis, which is vertical, shows the value measured during each
             time period.

             Sometimes a graph can be confusing if it has many values. That’s why each
             line uses a different colour so we can tell them apart.

             It also has a ‘legend’ or ‘key’ to help us understand what each line shows.
