Logical Testing – IF Formula
logical statement ‘IF’ formula
formula ‘∑’ button ‘More Functions…’ button
‘Insert Function’ ‘Select a Category’
Let’s Learn
A logical statement is a function which examines a result, whether it is true or false. It will then
carry out an instruction, based on the result. To put it simply, if a value is lower or higher than
the one we want, the app can perform one function or another. Here is an example.
Let’s say that you own a lemonade stand. You are using a spreadsheet to keep track of how
many lemonades you sell every day. You need to sell more than ten lemonades to make a profit.
You can use a logical statement to inform you if you sold enough. If it’s lower than ten, then the
app will show you a message, informing you if you reached your goal or not.
Let’s Practise
Using the ‘Sum’ function.
