Tom was watching the National Geographic channel on TV

and he saw an animal he hadn’t seen before. “Mom,

           look! That’s a dinosaur.” “No, dear, that’s a

rhino,” Mom replied. “I haven’t seen it before.

Can we go see it at the zoo?” Tom asked.

           “Rhinos now are endangered animals.

There are very few in the world and we

are hoping to keep them from going

           extinct,” Mom answered.

Why do you think rhinos are endangered?

Sara loves owers. One day, she saw a
picture of an unusual orchid. She wanted

to get one, so she visited the orist and
showed him the picture. “That’s a rainforest

orchid. These are very hard to nd now.
                                                 They are endangered,” he said.

How can a plant be endangered?

                         Conclusion

People have destroyed many areas of rainforests. Some people love to

take hunting trips in forests and kill too many special animals or collect

too many unusual plants. That is why many animals and plants are

endangered or have already become extinct.
