The Stone Age
The Stone Age is the earliest period of
human culture. It began about 2.5
million years ago.
Early humans lived in Africa.
They invented stone and bone
weapons and tools so they could
hunt animals like mammoths,
rhinos, and sh. The invention of
stone tools is why people today
call that time the Stone Age.
People were hunters and
gatherers. They ate fruits,
nuts, berries, and plants they
could nd in the area where
they lived. They used re to
make camp res so they could
stay warm and to help keep away
wild animals like bears and lions.
