The United States of America’s
current population has around 90
million immigrants. Those people
help the American economy and
culture grow and become diverse.
What would the United States be
like if it had no immigrants? Who
would live there? What languages
would they speak?

Long ago, people found a lot of
di culties in moving from the east
to the west in North America
because of the presence of the
Rocky Mountains. They made
traveling distance and time longer.
Imagine they never existed. Would
it still have been di cult to travel
from east to west? Why?
