How Do We Use Relative Location?
When we use relative location, we look at where places are near to. We might use words
like above, below, next to, north of, or west of. In your community, you might say that
a school is near a mall, or west of a famous mosque, or across the street from a popular
restaurant. We can use relative location to help us locate Egypt.
Egypt is below the continent of Europe and is located in Northern Africa at the top of
the African continent. Egypt is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea in the north, the
Gaza Strip, the Red Sea, and Saudi Arabia in the east, Libya in the west, and Sudan
in the south.
