Living in Sparta for men meant that they
would have to train from childhood to be strong
warriors. Spartan women were also brought up to be
strong and to be able to make decisions, unlike
women in other parts of ancient Greece where they
had to stay invisible to the public. Although houses
in ancient Greece were made out of mud, they were
spacious with a courtyard in the middle and many
rooms surrounding it. Most of the ancient
Greek households had slaves to serve them.
Let’s Research!
Divide yourselves into groups, where each group should pick an invention
or an idea that was developed in ancient Greece. Each group should present
the idea to the rest of the class as if they were the ones that came up with it.
