What is special about Northern Africa?

 The Sahara Desert is the biggest desert in the

world, and it covers a large part of North Africa. It is

covered with sand and is very hot during the

summer. Water is found in some places, and it forms

an oasis. People build towns around oases.

 The Atlas Mountains stretch from Morocco to

Tunisia. The tops of the mountains are covered with

snow, and the highest mountain is Mount Toubkal.

These mountains separate the Mediterranean Sea

and the Atlantic Ocean from the Sahara Desert.
