About Egypt

Egypt is a country located in Northern

Africa.

 Egypt is divided into two parts:

Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt.

 The Nile River is in Egypt. Without the

Nile, Egypt would be all deserts.

 There are wide valleys and low

mountains near the Nile.

 Egypt is bordered from the north by

the Mediterranean Sea, from the

south by Sudan, from the east by

the Red Sea, and from the west by

Libya.

 Egypt is a very old country. People

have lived there since thousands

of years ago. Egypt back then was

ruled by the pharaohs, who died

long ago.

 They had a very special written

language called hieroglyphics. It

was made of pictures called

hieroglyphs. Ancient Egyptians

used to write on walls and on

papyrus, an early form of paper.
