Let’s Learn
About Egypt
Egypt is a country located in Northern
Africa.
Egypt is divided into two parts:
Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt.
The Nile River is in Egypt. Without the
Nile, Egypt would be all deserts.
There are wide valleys and low
mountains near the Nile.
Egypt is bordered from the north by
the Mediterranean Sea, from the
south by Sudan, from the east by
the Red Sea, and from the west by
Libya.
Egypt is a very old country. People
have lived there since thousands
of years ago. Egypt back then was
ruled by the pharaohs, who died
long ago.
They had a very special written
language called hieroglyphics. It
was made of pictures called
hieroglyphs. Ancient Egyptians
used to write on walls and on
papyrus, an early form of paper.
