How do people use natural resources?
Plants and animals: Humans eat and drink the foods
and water that exist in nature. We eat sh that live in
the seas and fresh water, such as rivers and lakes. We
use medicines found in plants.
Water: We drink water from wells and rivers.
Some people get electricity from the water
that moves through dams.
Wind: People use wind turbines to get electricity.
Fossil fuel: We also nd natural resources under
the ground, with which people can produce fuel.
Fossil fuel is a resource that can be burned to
produce heat and energy and move vehicles.
