Community Helpers

Who are community helpers?

Community helpers are people with any job that improves our health and well-being.

Community helpers include teachers, doctors, police o cers, plumbers, street cleaners, and

many others.

Teachers

A teacher helps students learn about math, science, reading, writing, and other subjects.

Doctors

A doctor takes care of people’s health by providing checkups and caring for the sick or

injured patients.

Police o cers

A police o cer works to keep community members safe. They help people follow the laws

and investigate in order to solve crimes.

Plumbers

A plumber installs pipes in buildings and repairs pipes that leak. They make sure that sinks,

toilets, and bathtubs work properly.
