Home Connection
Dear Parents,
Your child is involved in learning activities designed to develop
knowledge about the basics of economics. They may be asked to
complete several tasks at home. Your support, interest, and cooperation
with these activities will support our overall program.
Our current lesson is about markets in the community. We urge you
to talk to your child about the lesson.
Here are some activities you can use to enhance and enrich your child’s
knowledge.
• Ask your child to tell you two things that they learned from the
lesson.
• Take your child on a shopping trip. Watch as people buy and sell.
Discuss together: Who is the consumer? Who is the producer?
• Show your child the difference between goods and services.
• Ask your child to show you three things in your home that are
goods. Ask your child to tell you two things that they
provide as a service to the family (ideas might be
watching a younger brother or sister, cleaning their
room, or feeding a family pet).
Thank you for being our partner in education!
Research has shown that children with involved parents score
better than others whose parents don't have a role in their
education process. Help your child stay brilliant!
