World Currencies and Their Symbols

There are many di erent currencies, used by di erent

countries around the world. Each currency has its own

symbol.

1. The United States of America uses the Dollar, or USD.

Its symbol is $.

2. The European Union uses the Euro. Its symbol is €.

3. Japan uses the Yen. Its symbol is ¥.

4. Great Britain uses the Pound Sterling. Its symbol is £.

When you look closely at money from di erent

countries, you will see interesting things that tell

you more about that country. You might see

famous people or leaders or famous buildings,

plants, or animals. You will also see how much Yen

value the coin or paper bill has.
