Continents of the World
About one-third of the Earth is made up of land areas. The
large land areas are called continents.
There are seven continents in the world: Asia, Africa,
North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and
Antarctica.
Asia is the biggest continent. It has the largest land area
and the world’s biggest population. Australia is the
smallest continent.
The continent of Africa has the most countries.
A country is an area of land that is controlled by its own
government. Currently, there are fty-four countries in
Africa.
