             Egyptian Governments over Time

In ancient Egypt, the Pharaoh was an absolute ruler.

He commanded the army and controlled the crops.

The ancient Egyptian community regarded him as a

god. They obeyed his orders and followed his rules.

The type of government at that time was “Rule by

One Person” which was the King.

In modern Egypt, things have changed. Elections

are held for people to vote for their leaders and

parliament members. People also participate in

choosing and voting for rules and laws. The current

government type is “Rule by the People.”

             Non-Governmental Communities

            A non-governmental community is one

in which people act according to the

rules set to ensure discipline and

self-control. These rules vary from one

community to the other. Your classroom

            is one example of these

            non-governmental communities. List

two rules in your classroom that might

change when you are in grade six.
