About the Middle East Region

The Middle East region is an area of 7.2 million km . The
region has varied physical features and landforms. Most

of the region is arid because of vast extended deserts.

The Middle East is a huge and varied geographical

territory located in southwest Asia and northeast

Africa. It stretches out from the Black Sea in the north

to the Arabian Sea in the south, and from the

Mediterranean Sea in the west to the mountains of Iran

in the east. The Middle East region is divided by

mountains and rivers into six di erent zones, or

sections.
