Dear Parents,

As part of our social studies program, your child has been learning about

world governments. Your child learned ways that he or she can identify
the differences among the types of ruling governments around the world.
You can help your child by supporting our classroom learning.

Here are some things you can do to reinforce the message of this lesson

and our related learning activities.
• Ask your child to tell you about the lesson and what he or she
learned from it.

• Use the information provided about each type of government in
the lesson. Discuss with your child the similarities and differences

between each type.
• Watch a video about different types of government.
• Discuss with your child the importance of democracy and the

freedom gained while living in a democratic system.
