The steam engine
The steam engine was a huge change in the
Industrial Revolution and a big turn for all people.
The rst practical steam engine was made in the
late 17 century, and it was not until the start of

the 19 century that it came into action and
th
started supporting a lot of di erent industries.
Factories used either animals, wind, or water to
operate either in windy areas, in places where
animals could be found, or near water streams in
order to have power. The steam engine was a
huge turnaround as factories were able to locate
anywhere, and they operated by burning coal.
The light bulb
Light bulbs appeared in the 19 century and they

were a breakthrough. They reduced the risk of
res from gasoline bulbs by powering light bulbs
electrically.
People, workers, and business owners turned to
use electric light bulbs instead of gasoline light,
res, and oil lamps, since they were cheaper and
safer.
