China before and after Being a Republic

            China before Being a Republic

Before being announced as a republic, China had been through a lot of dynasties. The Qing dynasty was

            the last dynasty controlling China.

The Qing tried to expand China’s land to the Ming, Mongolia, Tibet, and Xinjiang, which caused the

death and mistreatment of a lot of Chinese people. Eventually, the Chinese revolted against the dynasty

in a series of rebellions that ended with the Xinhai Revolution in 1911, which ended the Qing dynasty’s

rule and established the Republic of China.

            China after Being a Republic

The People’s Republic of China is ruled under a centralized government, or a form of government in

which all power is held by a single authority, instead of having each part of the country controlled

            under a certain ruler.

After China became a republic, the aspirations, or hopes and desires, of land expansion decreased and

the desire for social and economic reforms emerged. The country aimed to reduce the unrest and

instability by trying to focus on the country’s production.
