Megapixel.
Cameras nowadays can take pictures
which have millions of pixels!
One million pixels is called a megapixel,
or MP for short.
So, if your camera can take pictures of up
to 48 megapixels, that means your picture
can have 48,000,000 pixels!
Do you have a camera? How many
megapixels does it support?
Let’s Practise
Measuring the size of an image.
This is a picture of a star in the sky.
Can you count how many columns it has?
If you counted 7, you’re correct.
Now count the rows. There are 9!
So, the size of the picture is 7x9. If you
multiply the numbers, you get 63, which is
the resolution of the image.
