RGB colours.
Digital colours are created through combining red, green, and blue which are the
three main RGB colours.
As you can see in the
yellow
picture, the three colours
red are superimposed,
white which means they are put
magenta on top of each other.
green Each of the three
blue main RGB colours is a
component (a part) of
cyan the final colour of a pixel.
Let’s Practise
Colour RGB Value
Mixing RGB colours. Black rgb(0,0,0)
RGB colours have numbers which are used when mixing White rgb(255,255,255)
rgb(255,0,0)
Red
them as in the following table. Blue rgb(0,0,255)
The RGB numbers represent the red, green, and blue Green rgb(0,255,0)
values each colour has. For example, the RGB value of Yellow rgb(255,255,0)
Magenta
rgb(255,0,255)
the colour blue is (0,0,255), which means that there is Cyan rgb(0,255,255)
neither red nor green and there is as much blue as there Violet rgb(136,0,255)
can be. Orange rgb(255,136,0)
Fun Time!
Use the previous table to write the RGB values of each
of the following colours.
Magenta = , ,
Violet = , ,
Orange = , ,
Challenge Yourself!
What combination of colours do you need to make cyan?
