Charles Babbage
Charles Babbage (1791–1871) was considered a great
thinker since he had knowledge of many different
subjects. He was a mathematician, a philosopher,
and an engineer. He also made inventions, the most
important of which is considered the ‘Analytical Engine’.
This machine is considered the basis of modern
computers today. That is why Charles Babbage is often
called the ‘Father of Computing’.
Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs (1955–2011) was the
co-founder of Apple and was
responsible for many achievements
concerning computers and technology.
He helped produce
the first commercially successful
mass-produced computer in 1977
called Apple II. He then introduced
the world to the computer mouse.
Other ideas he had which changed
the history of computers and
technology were the first smartphone
and tablet, both of which became
immediate hits.
